About Me

Thank you for visiting my website! To introduce myself my name is Kimzy. I am an Illustrator based in New Jersey and I live relatively close to New York City.  I am currently an Undergrad for a BFA in Illustration at Montclair State University.

Through the work I create, I specialize primarily in character design. Creating characters has been a strong passion of mine for as long as I can remember. Something about having a character to call my own brings me a sense of euphoria that I cannot describe, and I enjoy the process that comes when creating different characters. My biggest strength is line art because depending on how it is utilize, it can really accentuate a character and bring out their personality.

I have experience with a multitude of mediums such as digital art, pen/ink, copic markers, graphite, india ink, acrylic, and watercolor. For my digital art, I use Procreate. I also know the basics of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Graphic design is another form of art I have experience with, alongside making logos. Additionally, I like to work with clay, from Sculpey clay sculptures of whimsical creatures to sculpting with air dry clay.

Some of my inspirations when it comes to my work are pop art, concept art, comic art, and artists like Don Bluth and Ron Rondecker. Particular cartoons and shows that currently inspire me are the Spiderverse movies, Arcane, & SpongeBob (the older seasons). At some point I was also inspired by anime at a young age, especially those created at Trigger Studios.  â€‹

While I'm not creating art, I like to take walks - whether that be outside or on the treadmill, spending quality time with family or friends, cooking, and exploring different places. I also love cottagecore aesthetics, the color green, sushi, and reptiles.

For any questions regarding my work or what you would like to see, feel free to reach out to me through my contact information! I hope to connect with you!
